The Intention + Process + Concepts...
Line-Work + Thread + Fabric Layers ---Motifs of hands pulling thread, weaving connection, and sheer fabrics appear throughout my murals and installations. This act of threading connects lineage—from Source to human and back again—creating continuity. The threads and lines form a symphony, natural branching of energy, symbolizing the unseen harmonious field of forces that tie us together. As I embroider and draw, I feel the heaviness and then lightness with each gesture, a metaphor for human+ Being. The technique of moving lines and threads in and out allows me to move in performance within the art as within myself---playing with a synergy of vibrations. The layered canopies—cut leaf and petal forms—become both shelter and threshold, connecting directly to childhood inspiration of my mothers + grandmothers fabric, fragile yet strong. Serving as a holder for transformation, protection and information.
The Intention ---Growth is nonlinear, fractal, ever-expanding. My process becomes its own intuitive formula— each line and embellishment knows where to go. I surrender to the intelligence of the work, becoming a vessel for its unfolding. In this way, the artwork is not simply made-- the intention is to transmit something greater, transmitting meaning beyond myself. I have a compelling desire to expand through what I create -beyond the confines of the body, to illuminate + share with others in an explosively vivid manner, as it transcends ordinary expression into a larger-than-life message.
Figures Embody Soul ---Human forms in my work are contemplative, braided into nature. They do not dominate the environment but exist within it— restoring harmony as messengers of Soul, with emotional responsiveness-- explorers reminding us of our place in the greater whole, while changing the vessel to match the frequency... A surrounding light-- always pushing and motivating us towards a constant rising.
An Immersive Experience ---The installations are modalities of creative action-- an aliveness of heart-opening welcome. Suspended textural and sculptural fabric forms, illuminated as guidance, held in safety and belonging. A call to Soul activism--- art as inclusion, orchestrating environments where anyone can pause, come back to simplicity--- shifting perspectives with the intention to feel joy at home in their Being.
Healing + Brain--Body-Heart Coherence ---Navigating life with an abnormal white matter brain lesion and the neurological sensory symptoms it presents-- has transformed what once felt like limitation into clear vision and strength. As I continue to move through its depths , my work emerges from the coherence of brain and heart—layered worlds that suggest stillness, restorative order, balance, and attune the body’s natural resilience. Our brains and bodies are wired to respond to sensory input—color, texture, and pattern can ease stress, elevate joy, and ignite creativity. With this in mind, each piece offers a way to align the nervous system while awakening a deeper sense of desire and possibility.--- forge social coherence.
The Eternal + Childlike Essence --- The work I create originates in the eternal. The Soul continues--- within every one and everything-- objects of handmade heirlooms of my childhood home to ancestral patterns of making, each piece becomes a gesture of magic, intertwining remembrance into new visual language. Through this revision, memory becomes communal, eternal, and shared beyond time and space. Much like a feeling of childlike play, drawn from the closeness with my sister, which carries forward into that ever-present awe seen through a child’s eyes.
Portability + Installation Technique-Organic (textile) Growth Patterns ---My practice embraces sustainability, lightness and mobility. I imagine art that can travel in a single bin, ready to unfold anywhere as a pop-up sanctuary. This portability reflects the desire for freedom and versatility. My installations become nomadic, yet stable in presence, — living artworks that arrive, evolve, and then move on, always in conversation with new spaces and communities-- an internal readjustment. Materials are recycled --unweighted - easy to transport and install, allowing the work to inhabit any space while maintaining a sense of fluidity- The lightness of the work reflects what becomes possible when we release dense, stagnant patterns—opening to clarity, vitality, and renewal. Each work is built from assembled fabric pieces layered on top of one another, sometimes stretched on delicate frames with hand embroidery, other times left to hang willingly. Installs are designed to spread across a space as one living organism, (the Souls Topography)-- Smaller forms sprout and reach outward as new areas of growth within each vessel until they come together as one. This expresses the way existence unravels-- the art forms begin to talk to each other - not in rigid lines, but in continual adapting, and expanding. Sculptural fabric + organic “textile” growth patterns illuminate -- as fabric mural hybrids form -- guided -- stitching into expansive mural pieces--
A Way to Reconstruct the Energy-Living Work, Evolving Presence --- Every thread, every hand-sewn layer, and textile surface is a testament to something greater. The installation blooms, as one unique heartbeat. Because the work is in motion, it invites people to return, each time discovering new meanings as the piece subtly shifts and evolves. The concept is asking viewers to enter into a shared experience, speaking to the pathways of reconstructing old beliefs and patterns to reveal the light that has always been present. As visitors move through the art, they become part of it, witnessing that love is constant and that each of us plays a role in shaping our collective experience. This living, breathing presence becomes an immersive narrative for healing and community— a momentum-- embodying the continuous energy exchange between Spirit, human, nature, and environment-- A reminder of the enduring energy of the people it represents. The gentleness of fabric reflects subtle cues from Source, encouraging us to listen and be guided, while the painted line-work provides grounding, anchoring the work in both human structure and spirit.
