Compassion Road Academy offers a unique enrichment program that takes place during the school day and offers  youth a variety of options and experiences. Classes are taught by professionals in their field and provide students the opportunity to broaden skills and interests. CRA has built strong connections to the neighborhood community utilizing facilities and businesses nearby. The enrichment program strengthens positive school climate AND allows youth to just have some fun ~ CRA

 

This is for the enrichment mural project-  A collaboration to bring Dona Laurita's photography vision to fruition-with this unique + unified creation between concepts — with her silhouette project — the students of compassion road + myself… -watch through for process* Was the purest pleasure to see the growth + joy in each student who participated in this project- opened my heart in all the ways … what it ignited ✨creating with such intention 𐎚you are all incredible + inspiring— thank you deeply for your magic ✴︎keep sharing it -always ❤︎::::

 

Concept came to life with each student creatively photographed in silhouette by Dona ♡ to a design then made by Danielle to transform each individual portrait to a mural layout - which then bloomed into textile maps of armor. As students created their own abstract line work to tell a story of rooted in space while out of place-expanding out to each individual still joined as one ☆ subtly + delicately woven together through energetic heart strings::::each learning cursive with a special word of choice- to tie in their personalized style- as reflecting their thought process~ a creative expression, sparking a unique + meaningful - yet personal skill 𐎚𐎚❤︎—The first footage is from the first 2 semesters from 2024 -

 

Second footage is a continuation of concepts through collective creativity-- Building on the theme of Out of Place-Out of Space, this mural is inspired by song lyrics + words of inspiration, which the students transformed into visual storytelling. ::::: They took creative direction in shaping what they wanted to paint + share, developing more skills-confidence in painting + expression— making this piece a true reflection of their voices + perspectives.
